Empowering Better Payments in the Travel Industry

We’re thrilled to showcase another clever payments solution—this time with our friends at Mint Payments.

Mint Payments specialises in solutions for the travel, tourism and hospitality industry, which is a great fit for us because the travel industry is where we started our own journey into payments.

In 2015, Trevor Wistaff, Ian Lennie, Adrian Kennedy and Matthew Cheers successfully exited from a tourism business they had innovated and scaled in a way the industry had never seen before. When the dust had settled, and they’d caught their breath, the four founders laced up again and set about resolving the biggest frustration they had experienced as merchants: Payments.

In 2018, they founded Split Payments from a garage in Byron Bay. And just two years later, Split Payments was named  2020’s Most Innovative Technology Company at the annual Australian Financial Review / BOSS ‘Most Innovative Companies’ awards.

But enough about us.

We’re delighted, through our collaboration with Mint Payments, to be enabling real-time electronic funds transfer (EFT) payments to deliver an innovative end-to-end payments platform dedicated to the travel industry. The MintEFT solution is an integrated B2B payments and remittance solution that will help travel agents process payments from their customers—and on to their suppliers—all from a single platform. 

MintEFT will provide travel agents and tourism operators with the ability to automate bookings and streamline reconciliation, as well as offer a range of payment options including electronic funds transfer (EFT) and credit card with real-time payments and immediate settlement.

We look forward to seeing the MintEFT solution play a role in helping many of our travel and tourism industry friends improve their processes and drive growth as they get back on their feet in a post-Covid economy.
